“The larger issue is that every- most- mission and campaign builders have different wants and needs.”
We're a modding team providing mission solutions for DCS World.
Who We Are
Snowflake is an international team of software developers.
We are leaders in modern ME tooling, building cutting-edge solutions for mission builders & aircraft developers.
We are knowledgeable in our craft, ranging from compiler and API tooling to building solutions based on your needs.
Snowflake begins its journey by confidently making DCS a better place for the community; you are our audience. ❤️
What We Do
Open Source
DCS modding is a core innovative component to new ideas and features brought into the game.
We believe that a better DCS involves open-source contribution. Leading by example, we curate our own Simulator Scripting Engine (SSE) documentation for mission makers and developers.
We think most tooling should be free, by the community and for the community. We hope to inspire and invigorate others positively so we can make DCS a better experience for everyone.
Undo
Spend less time fixing mistakes and more time building your mission.
"undo" is an ME extension, adding regression functionality as a GUI button and keybind.
Markline
Command your friendly AI and tell them what to do with F10 map markers.
"markline" is a simple ME API allowing AI units to be controlled like a command-line interface.
Orbit
Convert code from low-level languages to Lua, based on memory-safe type reflection.
"orbit" is our transcompiler that will selectively code-generate a working, typesafe Lua file.
Some of our projects, like undo, currently use orbit on the backend to generate the needed files, such as the installer executable.
We'll also be using orbit as our source-to-source translation layer for any project that needs to build Lua from another programming language.
How We Help
We built the "Underground," an ME framework dedicated to giving a highly immersive experience. It uses highly advanced Lua scripting to provide seamless gameplay.
While we are bringing basic undo and redo functionality to the
ME, we are creating "cdcs," a C API wrapper for the
SSE that provides FFI interoperability, high performance, and
.miz file manipulation.
In the future, we will release "cmdr", a low-level SSE framework that will let anyone regardless of their expertise program the AI's behaviour with a web-based interface.
